
Yesterday, at "Space 42 Arena" in Abu Dhabi, the UAE Muay Thai championship started. This is the biggest event of its kind held in the country, organized by the UAE Muay Thai Federation and kickboxing. It takes place during the sports season.
The championship opened with 225 fights across 4 bouts. More than 824 fighters from 61 clubs across the country are participating in the championship, along with foreign clubs from Uzbekistan, Morocco, Iraq, Lebanon, Algeria, Palestine, Libya, and Tunisia. 60 judges are officiating the bouts, and the total number of referees, supervising the participating clubs, amounts to 183 people.
The championship features male and female participants aged from 8 to 23 years, competing in various weight categories within each age group. The first day included preliminary rounds, while the final matches will take place tomorrow, on Sunday, including a ceremony awarding the winners and champions.
The championship is held as part of the UAE Muay Thai Federation and kickboxing program, aimed at supporting the development of sports, providing more opportunities for discovering talents and developing skills for future integration into national teams across various age categories.
